How often should I have an eye examination?
The NHS has recently issued guidelines as to how often, in the normal course of events, people are advised to have their eyes examined. These guidelines are:
Children under 16 years old, in the absence of any binocular vision anomaly
Children under 7 years with binocular vision anomaly or corrective refractive error
Children aged 7 - 16 years old with rapidly progressing myopia ( short sight )
Patients 16 - 70 years old
Patients over 70 years old
Patients over 40 with a family history of glaucoma, or with ocular hypertension and not in a monitoring scheme
If you are in any doubt as to whether you need an eye examination, or if you are experiencing any problems with your eyes, please contact us for advice ....
